How does it work?
The election results feed is an XML data feed supplying real-time election results for publication. It is available from approximately 7pm on election night and is updated continuously during the initial count as new results become available.
For state election events, both Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council progressive result extracts are provided.
For local government election events, both Mayor and Councillor contest progressive result extracts are provided. Results for referendum and poll are also provided commencing the week after election day.
Only initial count data is provided via the feed, not the check count (data entry results).
The feed requires data analysis and programming expertise to make use of and is not in human-readable form. Before proceeding to register your interest, you should review the election results feed user guide and other information below to confirm its suitability for your purposes, as well as your technical capability to make use of it.
The feed extract files are made available from our access-restricted FTP site which requires that you have a static IP address.
To request access, register your interest below. You will then be required to sign our terms of use agreement prior to access being granted.
