The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters

The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters is a committee of the NSW Parliament.

The Committee inquires into and reports on electoral laws and practices and the spending and public funding of political parties. It can only look at issues that are referred by either House or a Minister, and cannot consider electoral boundaries or the distribution of electorates.

The Electoral Commissioner and officers of the NSW Electoral Commission appear from time to time at hearings of the Committee in relation to the activities and conduct of the NSW Electoral Commission, and provide submissions to the Committee as required.
