How to complete and return your postal vote pack for state elections
Complete your ballot papers and postal vote certificate.

You will receive two ballot papers:
- a smaller ballot paper for the Legislative Assembly
- a larger one for the Legislative Council.
The Legislative Assembly ballot paper is attached to the postal vote certificate.
You need to tear along the perforated line to separate the ballot paper from the certificate.
Read the instructions on each ballot paper carefully.
Complete the postal vote certificate. You will need a witness to sign. Watch a video to find out how to complete your Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council ballot papers.
Return your postal pack
Place your completed ballot papers in the fold of the postal vote certificate. There is an icon showing where to place your ballot papers.
Follow the instructions to ensure your ballot papers are placed in the fold of the postal vote certificate.
Then put the postal vote certificate inside the return envelope provided and seal. It is important you put your postal vote certificate inside the return envelope correctly. Follow the instructions carefully.
Returning your postal pack from within Australia
To check you have placed the postal vote certificate correctly into the return envelope, the NSW Electoral Commission return address should be visible in the larger clear window on the front of the envelope.
Close and seal the envelope.
You do not need a stamp if you post it from within Australia.
Post your envelope as early as possible.
Returning your postal vote from overseas
Electors returning their postal vote from overseas will need to write the NSW Electoral Commission’s return address on the reply envelope.
Close and seal the envelope.
You can post your completed postal vote to our Sydney office or hand deliver it to one of the international drop-off locations.
