1. Legislative Assembly results

The election results after the distribution of preferences for each Legislative Assembly district are now available on the NSW Electoral Commission’s website. The exact time and date candidates were declared elected by the Electoral Commissioner can be viewed on the count status page.

2. Legislative Council distribution of preferences

The distribution of preferences for the Legislative Council election will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday 19 April 2023 at the NSW Electoral Commission’s Liverpool Street office at Level 23, 175 Liverpool Street, Sydney.

Candidates or their representatives, registered political parties, media and members of the public may attend the distribution of preferences, subject to sufficient space being available. If space is limited, preference will be given to officers of registered political parties and candidates. Although it is not necessary to register ahead of time, all visitors to our offices must provide their names and contact details and follow any directions about safety while present in our workplace.

Media are requested to confirm their attendance with the NSW Electoral Commission media team at nswecmedia@elections.nsw.gov.au or (02) 9290 5936.

For those unable to attend, the Legislative Council distribution of preferences will also be livestreamed. There is no requirement to register to view this event. A link to view the livestreaming will be published on our website at Live events. If there are technical difficulties that prevent or interrupt the livestream, the distribution of preferences will continue at the scheduled time.

3. Information webinars – electoral funding obligations and entitlements

The next webinar is at 11am Wednesday 26 April 2023 and will cover post-election disclosure of political donations and electoral expenditure obligations for all election participants, donations and expenditure rules for elected members and parties, and public funding eligibility, including making a claim from the Election Campaigns Fund.
