Apply to work

You can register your interest to work at the election by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) online. This includes State elections, Local government elections and by-elections. In your EOI you must detail any previous election experience, relevant skills, position preferences, availability, and confirm statements about political neutrality and conflict of interest.

If you provided an email address, you will be sent an email to confirm your expression of interest has been received.

Review of applications

The election manager in each district will review the expressions of interest on the applicants merits. Roles are appointed shortly before the election and continue throughout the election period. You may be contacted to discuss your skills and experience.

Offer of employment

If you are successful, you will receive an offer of employment by email, if you provided your email address. If you accept the position, you will also receive your letter of employment by email.

All positions require the completion of online training, however, some positions will involve the completion of additional face-to-face training.

You may be asked to take part in an anonymous survey about your experience of the recruitment process and working at the election. These surveys are entirely voluntary and the feedback is used to improve our recruitment processes.
