Upper Hunter by-election: Candidate nominations open
Candidate nominations are open for the Upper Hunter State by-election on Saturday, 22 May 2021.
Following the issue of the writ on Friday, 30 April, nominations can now be lodged and will close at 12 noon on Thursday, 6 May 2021.
Candidates may be nominated by either a registered political party or 25 voters enrolled in the Upper Hunter State district.
Nominations forms are available from elections.nsw.gov.au or by calling the candidate helpdesk on 1300 022 011.
Nominations must be submitted at either the Election Manager’s office in Singleton or at the NSW Electoral Commission’s office in Sydney, details of which can be found on our website. The deposit for a nomination is $250, to be paid in the form of cash or bank/building society cheque. Electronic nomination and payment is not available. Late nominations cannot be accepted for any State election.
