Scrutineers
Candidates are not permitted to take part in the voting process or the count of votes. They can appoint scrutineers to represent them. Scrutineers may observe the voting and counting of votes in order to ensure that the election is conducted in a proper manner. They attest to the election results and contribute to the transparency and impartiality of the process.
Scrutineers play an important part in the election process.
Scrutineers must:
- be enrolled electors for New South Wales
- be appointed by a candidate
- sign a declaration of secrecy.
