Nominations for the Wentworth Shire Council by-election to be held next month closed at 12 noon today.

The following three candidates have nominated to contest the by-election:

BROOK, Bill

RIBARITS, Cherie

HEYWOOD, Stephen

Electors may view each candidate’s information sheet at www.elections.nsw.gov.au or at the Council.

Electoral Commissioner Colin Barry reminded voters of early voting options.

“If you cannot get to a polling place on election day you can still make your vote count by casting a pre-poll or postal vote”, said Mr Barry.

Postal vote applications will be accepted up until 5.00pm on Monday, 30 November.

Pre-poll voting is available Monday to Friday, commencing Monday, 23 November and closing at 6.00pm on Friday, 4 December, at Wentworth Shire Council Offices 26-28 Adelaide St Wentworth.

Election day is Saturday, 5 December. Voting is compulsory for all residents on the electoral roll.
