Nominations for the Singleton Council B Ward by-election to be held Saturday, 22 August closed at 12 noon today.

The following four candidates have nominated to contest the vacant position on the council.

Ruth ROGERS

Mark ANDREWS

Jim DELANEY

Mark LYONS

Electors may view each candidate’s information sheet at www.elections.nsw.gov.au or at the office of the Returning Officer.

Pre-poll and Postal voting

Electoral Commissioner Colin Barry reminded voters of early voting options.

“If you cannot get to a polling place on election day you can still make your vote count by casting a pre-poll or postal vote”, said Mr Barry.

Postal vote applications will be accepted up until 5.00pm on Monday, 17 August.

Pre-poll voting is available Monday to Friday, commencing Monday, 10 August and closing at 6.00pm on Friday, 21 August, at the Singleton Council Administrative Centre,

corner of Queen Street and Civic Avenue Singleton.

Election day is Saturday, 22 August, between 8am and 6pm. Voting is compulsory for all residents on the electoral roll.
