Election officials across NSW will conduct the ballot paper draw for local council elections on Wednesday, 13 August.

The official draw will take place at local returning offices to determine the position of candidates and groups (where applicable) on ballot papers.

Media should check with their local returning office to arrange coverage of the event, which will take place in the afternoon once nominations close at noon.

Statewide Returning Offices are listed under the Council Index page, available through the Media Centre link at www.elections.nsw.gov.au.

The close of nominations will mark the beginning of the official month-long election campaign.

The names of nominees are published live to the NSW Electoral Commission website as they are accepted.

At 5pm today, the NSW Electoral Commission had accepted nominations from 2,660 candidates across NSW.
