Electoral roll deadline: 6pm Monday
19 September 2008
Residents in the State districts of Cabramatta, Lakemba and Ryde have until 6.00pm on Monday 22 September 2008 to enrol to vote or update their existing details in readiness for the by-elections to be held on 18 October 2008.
To enrol to vote you must be 18 years of age or over, an Australian citizen and living at your current address for at least one month.
People who have changed address without updating their enrolment or whose enrolment details have changed also have until 6.00pm today to update their enrolment.
There are three easy steps people can follow to make sure they meet Monday’s deadline:
- Log onto www.aec.gov.au and verify your details;
- Download an enrolment form and fax the completed form to your Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) divisional office; or
- Hand deliver a completed form to your AEC divisional office by 6pm Monday.
Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the AEC or NSW Electoral Commission websites or picked up at any post office.
The AEC jointly manages the roll for NSW and can be contacted on 13 23 26 for enquiries about the roll or your enrolment details.
